Invention of the drawing pin made of simple band steel by HEINRICH
SACHS. Start of industrial production (5 pins per run)
1899
Filing for patent on paper clips by the Norwegian Johan Vaalers
1901
Registration of patent on paper clips by Vaalers 1919
Mentioned for the first time in the trade register. Creation of today’s
SAX paper clip shape Dioscur 1920
The founder’s son, Dr. Ludwig Sachs, takes over the company.
As a chemical engineer he specializes in the development of erasers 1931
First enlargement of the product range taking on hole punches and
staplers. Start of production-line manufacturing 1966
